This past weekend I took Liv down to NJ to visit my Mom. On Saturday morning we hit the quirky Rockland Bakery in Nanuet, NY where we, the general public, were allowed to roam the large plant floor completely unsupervised while various bread making was going on right around us. It reminded me of the marketplace section of Ikea: chaotically organized and swarming with people. But instead of people rifling through bins of rugs, picture frames and clocks there were bins and bins of dinner rolls and endless racks of irish soda bread and various baguettes. They asked that people wear gloves but I'm not too sure how many people adhered to this request - which of course I'll think about the next time I'm out at a restaurant and reach for a dinner roll.
